Firefighting is my day job. Lawn care is my side hustle.
Given the schedule of firefighters, we typically work long, multi-day shifts, and then will have stretched periods of time off in between. After joining the fire department I started doing a few lawns on the side in my time in-between shifts. Some of my customers told their friends, and then those friends told other friends. Before I knew it, I found myself with a small business.
When I work with a lawn service customer, I treat everyone the same way I would as a public servant. I work to be an industry leader providing first-class customer service, providing education, effective communication, and health and safety.
